Healthy Water, Healthy People Monitoring Workshop

Expand your knowledge of water quality testing parameters and best practices to engage students while diving into Project WET’s Healthy Water, Healthy People monitoring activities!

8:30 am to 12:15 pm

Workshop will take place at the Santa Fe Watershed Association’s office at 1413 Second St, Santa Fe, NM 87505

Participants will receive the Healthy Water, Healthy People Water Monitoring Guide with 25 lessons for 6th to 12th grade students along with a $50 stipend.

Backyard Birding with Students Workshop

Join Audubon Southwest and the Santa Fe Science Initiative for a fun and interactive workshop to connect life science, wildlife, and outdoor learning. Learn about some of the common bird species found in Santa Fe, how to identify and observe birds at home and at school and collect and use observational data in your classroom.

Workshop will take place on Zoom

This workshop will prepare you for connecting birds with your students through standards-aligned lessons, as well as ways to participate in the Great Backyard Bird Count (February 14-17, 2025).

Getting Little Feet Wet Workshop

Join the Santa Fe Watershed Association and Santa Fe Science Initiative to explore early childhood water education from water properties to water sounds. Getting Little Feet Wet is a publication of Project WET that contains lessons to enable teachers and their young learners to explore different aspects of water.

9:00 am to noon

Workshop will take place at Mandela International Magnet School

Participants will receive a Getting Little Feet Wet guide that contains 11 interactive, hands-on activities with Pre-K and K-2 options that are aligned to educational standards.

Plants in the Schoolyard Workshop

Transform your schoolyard into a vibrant learning space with our hands-on workshop for teachers! Discover the benefits of school gardens. Learn how they can be powerful tools for teaching science, sustainability, and healthy living. In this session, we’ll explore practical steps for designing and maintaining a garden at your school, overcoming common challenges, and involving students in every stage of the process. Whether you have a small space or a large area to work with, you’ll leave with actionable ideas and resources to bring your garden vision to life and cultivate a love for nature in your students.
